I think the best part about writing Hannibal fanfic is

you don’t have to do a huge amount of research about how to integrate proper, legitimate psychiatric procedures into the storyline

whatever fucked up thing it is that you want to happen in the fic, you just write it so that Hannibal makes it happen

because it’s fucking Hannibal, so what’s someone gonna say?

“it would be completely unethical for a therapist to do/say that”

“that technique has been repeatedly condemned by the psychiatric community”

“no doctor who wanted to keep their license would say/do that to a patient”
