Working out and working as an actor have gone hand in hand – I always feel more prepared if I know I have done a workout. It gives me confidence – and peace of mind.
Society: Capitalism and the free market is great because it lets customers CHOOSE who’s the best company and then that company makes all the money while lesser companies have to improve or die.

Hollywood has had an issue with age and creating roles for older actors. Are you considering how to make a transition?
Mads Mikkelsen: “Well let’s continue this in the gym! [Laughs.] No, I’m not concerned at all. There’s something that we can’t run away from, and that’s our age. I think that Hollywood’s actually been fairly nice to the male actors, but on the other side, that has not been the case. The second you hit 30 as a woman, you have to wait until you are 80 again and then they bring you back as Miss Daisy. But there has been a fair amount of interesting parts for men in their 50s and 60s and 70s, so I don’t think about that too much. I’ve never really planned my career, and I will see where it ends. I do what I think is fun, and if it stops, it stops. But if it stopped tomorrow, I’m not sure that I’m the guy that would knock on doors.”
