oh my god… people are allowed to leave situations they don’t want to be in anymore! everyone was ecstatic to see zayn be happy weeks go, posting selfies and tweeting and spending time in studio with his non-1d crew saying he was finally ‘himself’ again and shit, and now that it’s known he wants to do solo stuff, he’s selfish for leaving? what importance does it have if we don’t like naughty boy, zayn does and he never wanted to not make music, he just didn’t want to be in one direction anymore, it wasn’t how he wanted to live his passion and it wasn’t how he wanted to live. he wants to be around people he loves (his fam and friends), he wants to sing tunes he likes, he wants to respect himself and his desires, and you wanted him to stay even though he didn’t want to? even though this lifestyle stressed the hell out of him? you want to see him perform knowing it’s not where he wants to be? you want him to start resenting the boys and the fans ‘cause he wants a different life? i doubt you want that. him leaving is his freaking prerogative, it’s his life. he didn’t have to wait until the leg is over, he left ‘cause he couldn’t do it anymore and i don’t see how that’s hard to get?! if the boys support him and are okay with whatever he wants to do, then who are we to judge him? fuck if i’m not happy in a situation, i’ll try my best to last like zayn actually did (5 years is a long time), and then if it doesn’t work for me anymore i will leave like all of us should do. he didn’t have to stay for money, he didn’t have to stay for us. do you stay in a relationship you’re miserable in just ‘cause the other person loves you? no, you leave. i want harry louis liam and niall to be okay, i am worried for them a bit and i’ll support them to hell and back (i hope everyone does) and i’ll miss ot5 so fucking much, but not at the expense of another member being unhappy. which he often seemed to be. they all deserve to do something they like. all of this is complicated, there’s lots of things we’ll never truly understand about contracts and obligations and shady people making money out of these kids and shit, but in the end zayn wasn’t happy anymore and that’s the thing you have to remember before being mad at him (which is your right tbh!!! but if you come in my inbox, expect an answer) for choosing to do things his own way
