To me it was really important to get to the idea of feeling underappreciated. From Mad Sweeney’s point of view, he’s been brought to this country by the people who brought him over from Ireland and there was a deep, long history of appreciation and reverence for him, and then they abandoned him for newer and shinier toys. So getting into the feeling of having had reverence and appreciation, and then losing it and feeling underappreciated.
