But I was adamant it was your face I wanted.
I was looking at your face while you were watching me cut mine off and I thought, “Oh, that’s a nice face.”
I bet Will Graham smells like old perfume and woods.
You know, he lives in the middle of nowhere, there’re trees all around. His fragrance is like a watery perfume and soaked leaves, pine tree and slightly burned wood, by the bonefire.
His body is always so warm when you get close, like a fireplace transferring heat. His appearance makes you feel at home, even though he is a strange guy. Despite him being introverted, his aura is welcoming.
You can look into his eyes and see all the love his has for these 7 adopted, stray dogs.
He may seem intimidating at first, but only if you get to know him will you see the generosity and playful nature of his soul.
Do you ever cry because when Will broke up with Hannibal, the next we see of him he’s put his glasses back on.
These glasses which, throughout the series, have been symbolic of the barrier Will puts up between himself and getting too close to others. This is Will – regardless of the massive psychological game at play here – shutting Hannibal out.
And then in the very next episode, three years having passed, the very first thing he does as he approaches Hannibal’s cell
is take his glasses off. I always thought this was an interesting little gesture, because Will didn’t wear his glasses for the entirety of the episode. It’s only when he goes to see Hannibal that he wears them, that little symbolic front, and as soon as Will lays eyes on him again, whether he consciously realizes it or not, that barrier comes crumbling down.
One of the awesome things about Hannigram is how easily they can both shift along the D/s spectrum, especially with each other.
But um, yeah, I don’t think Will’s dominant streak can be denied.
Like, we joke so much about “Will Graham kinkshames himself,” and canonically speaking the number one “kink” that he shames himself for isthis:
We’re so used to seeing Will act out other people’s violence, but it’s important to remember that this one is actually Will omg.
Like, you could kinda read the whole series, on a sub-textual level, as the story of one shamelessly kinky bastard (Hannibal) getting someone super repressed (Will) to embrace their own dominant tendencies without shame or guilt. It’s everyone else looking at Will and being all, “He’s so fragile and awkward and shy, be careful with him,” and Hannibal seeing through all that and going, “Give that pretty boy a whip already, ffs.” .
Just think about their conversation about how Hannibal sees Will as a mongoose that could protect him from the snakes. Or think about that one time Will tied Hannibal to a tree in his imagination.
Hannibal doesn’t even try to hide how pleased he is both times Will holds him at gunpoint. He’s SO proud of him (and hellishly turned on).
