I love how with Hannigram, you don’t have “the serious one” and “the fun one” it could be either way around.

You can have Will with his I don’t give a shit attitude and his pack of dogs and Hannibal running around after them all with a lint roller.

And then in the next breath you can have Hannibal like *pushes body out of car* Going my way? attitude and Will is there just, not really processing him.

Heresy inspiration – daring God

Heresy is having an opinion or belief that is against the official or popular opinion.

We all know that heresy, in modern times this is the “unpopular opinion tag”, more often than not opening the poster up to attacks of those that wish to repulse the heretic, to keep the “current state of affairs”.

Heresy is also defying the doctrine of a belief, most notably connected with the christian belief system, which is basis for Dante’s Inferno as well (though it does take its cues from various other sources as well).

Defying “his” rules, “his” teachings, the sinners are punished in fiery tombs, condemned to know the future, but not the present. Always uprooted, never within the present context, suffering for eternity.

In the show, Hannibal “believes in God, intimately”. He also goes against the doctrine, fully aware of the teachings. But, in a way, not accepting the punishment as a possible future for himself. Actually he believes himself to enact the punishment of God, the culling of the rude, elevating them to art. Putting them up as a display in a church.

He even chooses a chapel as the entrance to his mind palace, a place where others can choose to visit, to worship him. Accept and enhance his heresy.

Hozier’s beautiful lyrics fit very well for this scene, this circle.

Take me to church

I’ll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies

I’ll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife

Offer me that deathless death

Good God, let me give you my life

Will accepts the heresy here, the need to give his life to bring (t)his God down. Question is, will Hannibal offer him the deathless (little) Death after? 🙂

What fate would await Hannibal if he were to enter the Inferno in this circle? If he were mortal? If he were Lucifer, as the show insinuated?
