Alright, so the worlds most prolific serial killer is caught and goes to trial for it, but on the day before the verdict comes out he gets kicked in the head by a horse and loses all his memory… Can the jury still find him guilty and punish him if he doesnt remember the crimes? The answer is yes, he still did it! He still killed people… And thats why Tony had every right to want to kill bucky. Just bc someone didn’t remember and has removed themselves from that identity, doesn’t mean they didnt do that shit. thanks for coming to my ted talk

Alright… So i see some people are bringing up that he didnt have any memories when he committed the crimes, so we’ll change the scenario… Normal guy gets kicked in the head one day, loses his memory and gets taken in by some dude who keeps telling him to kill ppl so he does whenever the guy that found him tells him to. One day he gets kicked in the head again and regains his memories and regrets killing while with the other guy… Did he still do that shit and do the victims still have a chance to be mad? Yes! Do they still have the right to want justice? Yea! Manipulation does not equal innocence, and bucky fans gotta realize that

Neither one of these takes do Tony any favors and mostly are just moronic.

BUCKY WAS TORTURED AND BRAINWASHED AND MIND WIPED FOR A CENTURY – IN THIS CASE, IT TURNS OUT MANIPULATION EQUALS INNOCENCE.

Let me scenario you.

Normal guy is captured in war, normal guy is ripped to shreds, normal guy’s memories are destroyed, normal guy is tortured, normal guy breaks, normal guy does not even understand he is human anymore, normal guy understands fear and torment and pain, normal guy does as he’s ordered. Normal guy no longer exists. The soldier is a thing, the soldier is pliable and bent and made to do things he can’t comprehend because comprehension has fled. The soldier is a glorified gun. The soldier is the only thing until Steve and the bridge and even then barely.

What, you think “order through pain,” thinly-veneered-Nazi-stand-in-Hydra, whispered lullabies in his ear telling him to kill people? You think it was one man patting his head and offering him a treat. One person’s force of will against a monstrous organization who glories in pain trying to break him to pieces, for 80 years. Have you even seen the Hydra flashback scenes? Would you blame a feral abused dog for biting someone his 50 abusive masters pointed to. Because that’s your scenario.

Tony has a right to be mad, to seek justice, maybe even to try to kill Bucky (although if you believe Tony thinks you should answer death with death, maybe you don’t know him very well, in addition to completely misunderstanding Bucky.) In fact, no one believes in Tony’s right to that more than Bucky does. Bucky agrees with Tony, Bucky thinks he should be blamed and hurt and punished.

/NONE OF THIS/ CHANGES THE FACT THAT BUCKY IS INNOCENT.

And all of this confirms Steve intentness on protecting him.
